Terms of Use for Coride

Welcome to Coride! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of Coride Sweden AB’s (“Coride,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) services, including our website (“Website”), ridesharing app (“App”), and the desktop version of the App (collectively, the “Products”).
1. Definitions
- “Products”: Coride’s website, ridesharing app, and desktop version.
- “Users”: Individuals who register an account with Coride.
- “Drivers”: Users who offer ridesharing services through Coride.
- “Passengers”: Users who book ridesharing services through Coride.
- “Wallet”: The digital wallet used for transactions within Coride.
- “Organization”: An employer, association, or other organization that a user is affiliated with.
- “Corporate Portal”: A digital platform where organizations can manage and monitor their employees’ use of Coride’s services.
2. Scope of the Service
Coride is a matchmaking platform that connects drivers and passengers for ridesharing. Coride does not provide transportation services and is not responsible for the actual ride or the interactions between users.
Coride’s services are currently only available to users in Sweden.
All payments and transactions are conducted in Swedish kronor (SEK).
3. User Requirements
To use Coride, you must:
- Be able to verify your identity using BankID.
- Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration.
- Follow these Terms and applicable laws and regulations.
- Reside in Sweden and accept that all transactions are conducted in SEK.
4. User Obligations
Users of Coride agree to:
General obligations:
- Provide accurate information: Submit truthful and up-to-date information when registering.
- Follow rules: Use the service in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws and regulations.
For drivers:
- Hold a valid driver’s license and ensure their vehicle is insured, inspected, and compliant with traffic laws.
- Keep the vehicle in good condition and meet safety standards.
- Be punctual and respectful towards passengers.
For passengers:
- Pay for rides on time via the Wallet.
- Be punctual and respectful of the driver’s vehicle, the driver, and other passengers.
5. Prohibited Use
Users may not:
- Use the Products for illegal purposes or activities.
- Create false accounts or provide misleading information.
- Harass other users or otherwise violate good conduct.
6. Wallet and Payments
Coride offers a digital wallet for managing payments within the service.
- Adding funds: Users can add funds to their Wallet using Swish or other supported payment methods.
- Maximum balance: The Wallet balance cannot exceed SEK 3,000. If this limit is reached, a payout will be initiated via Swish Payout.
- Payment for rides: After a ride is completed, the Passenger’s payment is automatically deducted from their Wallet and transferred to the Driver’s Wallet.
- Transaction fee: Coride charges a 10% fee on each payment between Drivers and Passengers.
- Payouts: Users can request to withdraw all or part of their Wallet balance via Swish Payout. Processing time is up to five business days.
- Currency: The Wallet only supports payments in SEK. Users must have a Swedish BankID to register and use the service.
7. Cancellations
Cancellations can be made by either the Passenger or the Driver. Users are encouraged to cancel as soon as possible and notify other users via the messaging feature.
Passenger cancellations:
- Passengers can cancel a booked ride through the platform before the ride starts.
- Drivers are not entitled to monetary compensation for cancellations by passengers.
Driver cancellations:
- Drivers can cancel a planned ride through the platform before the ride starts.
- Passengers are not entitled to monetary compensation for cancellations by drivers.
- Passengers may leave feedback regarding cancellations through the rating feature.
Coride does not provide monetary compensation for cancellations, whether made by Drivers or Passengers. Feedback through the rating system is the primary method for expressing opinions on cancellations.
Repeated cancellations by either Drivers or Passengers may impact their average ratings and visibility on the platform.
8. Feedback and Ratings
Coride provides a rating system to facilitate transparency and trust between Drivers and Passengers.
- Mandatory feedback: After each ride, both Drivers and Passengers are encouraged to provide feedback and rate each other.
- Honesty and respect: Ratings and reviews must be truthful and constructive. False, misleading, or abusive comments are prohibited and may result in account suspension.
- Visibility: Average ratings (as a Driver or Passenger) may be displayed to other users during bookings or in profile information.
- Moderation: Coride reserves the right to review and remove feedback that violates these Terms or is deemed inappropriate.
9. Corporate Subscriptions and Portal
If you are connected to an organization through a corporate subscription, the organization may have access to certain information about your use of Coride’s services.
Employer insights:
- The organization can see which employees are connected to the subscription.
- The organization can view whether a user is active or inactive on the platform.
- The organization has access to anonymized, aggregated statistics, such as:
- Total number of trips completed by employees.
- Estimated CO₂ savings and average trip distances.
Administrative rights:
- The organization can add, remove, or deactivate users linked to the corporate subscription.
Limitations:
- Detailed information about individual trips, such as routes, times, or ridesharing partners, will not be shared with the organization.
Consent:
- By connecting to a corporate subscription, you agree that the organization has these insights and administrative rights.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting Coride at info@coride.se, which may affect your ability to use the service through the employer.
10. Parking Verification
To enable parking benefits for ridesharers, Coride collaborates with external actors such as parking companies or security services.
Verification of ridesharing vehicles:
- A security company can check whether a vehicle is registered in Coride’s ridesharing program by entering the vehicle’s registration number.
- Only a yes/no confirmation is provided.
Limitations:
- No personal information about Drivers or Passengers, such as names, email addresses, or detailed trip data, is shared with security companies.
- This feature is solely used to verify ridesharing status and enable parking benefits.
Consent:
- By using Coride’s services, you consent to this verification feature being used to provide parking benefits.
11. Limitation of Liability
Coride acts as a matchmaking platform and assumes no responsibility for:
- The quality, safety, or execution of the ride.
- Lost items, damages, or accidents during the ride.
- Any financial losses due to cancellations, delays, or disputes between Drivers and Passengers.
- Content in user-submitted ratings, reviews, profile photos, or biographies.
- How an organization uses shared data under a corporate subscription.
- How a parking or security company uses the verification feature.
Drivers are responsible for having valid insurance and adhering to traffic laws. Passengers are responsible for behaving responsibly.
12. Disputes Between Users
Disputes between Drivers and Passengers should be resolved between the parties. Coride may, at its discretion, act as a mediator but is not obligated to resolve disputes or provide compensation.
13. Account Termination
Users may terminate their account at any time by:
- Navigating to Menu > Terms & Privacy > Delete My Account in the App.
- Contacting us at info@coride.se to request account deletion.
When an account is terminated, personal data will be deleted or anonymized, except for data required by law (e.g., accounting records). Coride reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.
14. Intellectual Property
All content on Coride’s platform, including logos, text, design, and features, is the property of Coride and is protected by intellectual property rights. Copying, modifying, or using this material without written permission from Coride is prohibited.
15. Cookies and Privacy
Coride uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance the user experience, analyze behavior, and provide personalized marketing. By using the Products, you agree to our use of cookies as described in our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to the Terms
Coride may update these Terms as needed. Significant changes will be communicated via email or through the Products. By continuing to use the Products after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes will be resolved in Swedish courts, with Ystad District Court as the first instance.
