Lund leading the way with CoAction Lund

“Being the best is not good enough” – a quote that was heard during the kick-off when the CoAction Lund project started. It describes Lund a little humbly when it comes to the approach to environmental and climate work.

Last week it was announced that Vinnova, Sweden’s innovation authority, had appointed CoAction Lund to lead the way. This means that the work done here will be followed by researchers and many other cities and shown as an international example. Initially, we will receive one million SEK to develop CoAction Lund.

The initiative brings together actors in Lund who stand behind the municipality’s climate goals and are prepared to make a change. We gather power along the innovation route with Brunnshög, Ideon and Medicon Village. But Tetra Pak and Alfa Laval from other parts of Lund are also involved. In total we are over 25 actors!

We focus on energy and mobility, because passenger transport accounts for the majority of emissions in Lund and a robust energy system is an absolute necessity for climate neutrality to be achieved.
